What to expect at Your Meeting with seven Baskets full Financial
At your first meeting with us, you can expect a mix of introductions, financial review, and goal-setting. It’s a discovery session designed to determine if you and we are a good fit and to begin understanding your financial picture.
- We will ask about your:
- Hopes for and plans in retirement
- Income, savings, debts, and expenses
- Current retirement, investment, and insurance accounts
- Family situation (dependents, spouse, aging parents)
- Employment and benefits
- Short- and long-term financial goals
*Tip: Be honest and bring whatever documents you have—it doesn’t have to be perfect.
- What do you want to achieve?
- Retirement age and lifestyle
- Paying off debt
- Buying a home or funding education
- Leaving a legacy or starting a business
- The advisor may help clarify or prioritize your goals.
Bring or be ready to discuss:
- Pay stubs, tax returns
- Retirement account statements (401(k), IRA, etc.)
- Investment and bank account info
- Insurance policies
- Wills or estate planning documents (if available)
We will explain:
- Types of services offered (planning, investment, estate)
- Planning approach (comprehensive, modular, etc.)
- Our investment philosophy and planning tools
- Frequency of meetings and communication style
- How we get paid
- You may receive a summary or proposal
- You’re not required to commit right away
- You’ll decide whether to proceed, schedule a follow-up, or shop around
- Are we a fiduciary?
- How do we get paid?
- What experience do we have with people in my situation?
- What’s our investment strategy?
- What services do we include?
